What have you done so far this year?

Let's face it - this is the last day of July, which means 2007 is seven months old.  You must have done something that's resume worthy.  Chances are you've done a lot.  And if you haven't been updating your resume right along, chances are it's not all it could be.

So take a few minutes to recall what you've done.  Make some lemonade, sit on the front porch and brainstorm.  Here's a few items to get you started:

Improvements.  Most don't think they've improved anything on the job.  But even if you insert widget "A" into slot "B," you've probably found a better way to insert it.  Have you improved your office efficiency by introducing a new filing system?  Have you instituted methods for your team that resulted in more productivity?  Make sure you write it down!

Savings.  If you took your average national chain restaurant, for instance, and reduced the number of wasted one-serving creamers per day, the chain would save thousands of dollars per day.  Have you reduced waste?  Write it down!

Made money.  Salespeople can easily show they've made their companies money.  But what about those on the production line?  If you had to rig an adaptor to the line to make it run more smoothly, then you've improved productivity and made the company a lot more money.  Be sure to write it down!

IN THE CARAVAN:  Time for your mid-year resume check up!  Brainstorm and update yours today.
